On Sunday 2nd February, 2020, the Tamworth Phoenix Flag, Youth, and Junior teams will come together to be named, collectively, Phoenix PHutures.
The change reflects the continued development of the program’s offering of American football for youngsters in the Midlands regions, which now caters for girls and boys from 8 to 19 years old with the three age group teams.
How things will differ
Program communications referring to the Flag, Youth, and Junior teams, collectively, will use the Phoenix PHutures name.
The current Tamworth Phoenix Youth Facebook page will be renamed as “Phoenix PHutures American Football”, with the Flag and Junior pages being closed.
The Tamworth Phoenix Youth Instagram page will be renamed “Phoenix PHutures American Football” and will cover the Flag, Youth, and Junior teams.
The Tamworth Phoenix website, www.tamworthphoenix.co.uk, will be updated to reflect the change, with a dedicated web page for Phoenix PHutures.
Tamworth Phoenix Youth and Juniors head coach Karl Burgess is one of many involved with managing the three age group teams that is excited to see the continued evolution of the program's offering of American football:
“Having added two more age groups to take us to three teams in the last 12 to 18 months, we are excited be able to present ourselves to Nix Nation, as well as potential players, staff, and sponsors, in a more straightforward and engaging fashion,” said Burgess.

The more streamlined social media format will make it easier for those making inquiries to search for and make contact with the Phoenix, who will in turn be able to respond and answer more efficiently.
With the Flag and Junior Facebook pages being closed, those who Like the pages, but not the current Youth Facebook page, are being encouraged to do so.

After a successful 2019 for what will be known as Phoenix PHutures, preparations for the 2020 British National Leagues season with the Flag, Youth, and Junior teams are already in full swing.
Girls and boys aged 8 to 19 with all levels of experience of American football, including those completely new to the sport, are welcome to check out and attend training sessions every Sunday at the Rawlett School, Tamworth:
Age 11-13 • flag non-contact • 5v5 • 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Age 13-16 • youth contact • 5v5 • 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Age 16-19 • junior contact • 9v9 • 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
