The Tamworth Phoenix are delighted to announce that they are moving, and will be playing all their home games at Pack Meadow from 2018. Both the National Champions and the Phoenix Youth team will be training and competing at the new venue which boasts a floodlit, high quality surface, and a well maintained grass field.
Pack Meadow has been the home of Coleshill Town FC since 1974, and also hosts a range of other soccer teams from around the region. The facility was purchased by Pack Meadow Ltd in 2013 who have been working to improve the site and facility, which was boosted by the installation of the state of the art 3G artificial surface in 2015. Pack Meadow is a FIFA 2 Star certified venue, and plans are in place to refurbish and renovate the existing clubhouse within the next few years.
Club President James Hossack said; “We’re hugely excited to be moving to Pack Meadow, we feel that the ground and facility really fits our purposes, and the surface will really allow the Phoenix to lift their game on the field. The covered seating areas will accentuate the game-day experience for fans, and we feel that Pack Meadow is a venue that is befitting of the National Champions.”
“We’d like to thank everyone at Atherstone Sports Hub who have hosted us for the past three seasons, but we’re excited to be moving on, and we’re looking forward to starting the next chapter with the team at Pack Meadow”
Senior Team Head Coach Jason Scott told us; “The top quality surface will allow us to play at a higher level than before, and combined with a better experience for fans and the Phamily, we are expecting a long and successful stay at Pack Meadow.”
The Phoenix players will get their first look at Pack Meadow during the team’s third Organised Team Activity on Saturday 13th January 2018 from 6:30pm. Prospective players are welcomed to come and check out the team, and speak with the coaching staff.
Pack Meadow is located at the top end of Coleshill on Packington lane, 250 meters away from the entrance to Coleshill Leisure Center; it is a short distance from J4 of the M6 and J7a of the M42.
